Hare and Fawn in Queanbeyan are pleased to offer the opportunity to work either under a wage and bonus structure or under a subcontract arrangement.
We’re seeking subcontractors who are looking for a primary workplace to call home.
We’re pleased to offer a 50/50 split of turnover inclusive of superannuation. Of the amount paid to the subcontractor, 11% (or the mandatory superannuation contribution) is paid as a superannuation contribution. The remainder is paid directly to you, the subcontractor, once an invoice is received. So, the superannuation is paid from the subcontractor’s 50%, not in addition to.
We’ll pay 50% of total services inclusive of GST, 15% of retail sales for products and 40% of hair extension services for new extension installations.
50% retained by the salon covers the cost of:
- Rent and use of the salon space including basin areas
- Product use including colour and professional stock, styling product testers and basin products
- Beverages for clients
- Towels and laundry
- Support team members including reception, assistance and junior team members to be shared amongst salon employees
- General advertising and promotion via our social media channels, google and websites
- Use of salon eftpos terminals, Afterpay, Zippay AMEX and other bank charges
- Salon appointment booking system
- Education should you wish to attend salon education events
- Electricity and gas, heating and cooling
- Internet for guests and use while in the salon
- Salon phone line
You’ll simply need to let us know the times you wish to work with a minimum of one month’s notice and we will book clients for you in these times for services you wish to provide.
Services will be provided to both your own clients and salon clients, and we’ll aim to book you as much or as little as you wish. You can let us know if you’d like to receive online bookings or manage new appointments over the phone or in the salon only.
You’ll have no other responsibilities within the team other than providing hair services, recording client histories, maintaining your work areas and cleaning up after your own clients and work.
While performing work for Hare and Fawn you may choose to provide services within the pricing structure of the business or charge additional fees if you wish, but not charge less than what is set out in the salon price list.
It’s our preference to engage hairdressers in a permanent employee arrangement and both options are available to you; however, we understand that the flexibility and opportunity to work as a subcontractor is more appealing to some people and are excited to be able to facilitate different work structures within our business.
